Hi Thanks Daniel...

The last two are just cutesy thingies. My concern with "Resources" is that people will go there but not to Support. The two seem in competition. I'd rather have Support in the left navbar, if that is deemed more obvious, and delete it from the tab, then. It could (and probably does) include all that the Resources section now has. Of course, I see the value of having Mailing Lists, etc., on the homepage. So, logically, it may be better to place "Support" in the "Resources" box. The placement of coming events (why not just "Events"?) and Media attention is good, but Media Attention seems to me to be in competition with "media kit"... As to the menu idea I suggested before: how about a mouseover on Contribute? I think having "contribute funds" on the homepage has made a real change, and I think we'd very much like to keep that change. :-) (okay, lousy pun) One other point. I suggested putting "product" in the top navbar, as a tab. Say we move Support to the left navbar; that gives us space, as it were, for it. > >Notice that I *did* *not* put "For Developers" and "About the Product" >in there. So, this really is something between Matthew's 4 and 5. I >think it's a good compromise. Furthermore, it maintains the 2-column >layout, which is what made 5 so interesting (IMO). Agreed: moving away from 3 column is a *good* idea. > >I don't know how to make the CommingEvents and MediaAttention collapse/uncollapse, >but you get the idea. But I think it's actually better not to have collapsibles. My objection is that a collapsible menu is like seeing a kitchen with closed cupboards that then bewilderingly open up. A form of cluttter is produced that overwhelms. We don't have to have coming events on the homepage at all. I don't really think it's that important, though some people llike it there. It could better be in MP. That leaves "Media Attention" (which I think is an odd phrase--why not, "News"?) and that could be an expanded box. The problem then is that it threatens to give a boxy look again, but using the Apple model <http://www.apple.com/>, that could be okay. I think having Media Attention uncollapsed and open to plain view at a glance is important. It is boring, insipid news, usually, and will largely duplicate what else is out there, as John once pointed out. But it is *our* news, and can grab the eye quickly. But having Events out there is not as important.... And as to overall layout, I still think it's top heavy. But that's easily adjusted, proably and would change should the banner be altered. > >What do you think? > >Cheers, Cheers Louis --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
