You keep saying your piece but all I get out of it is that you want to take over.
I have never got the impression from Daniel that he wanted to "take over". In fact, at OOoAuthors (which he set up in an attempt to get documentation done quickly, when the official Doc project was unresponsive), he has spent a lot of time trying to get the rest of us to just *do things* (develop our ideas and run with them) without asking for his input or approval. That doesn't sound like my idea of "taking over".
Indeed, Daniel says, "we should delegate tasks more." That sounds to me like the opposite of wanting to take over. Though I can understand the frustration of delegating and then having the task stop dead rather than move forward, so the temptation is there to pick up the task again and move forward with it yourself (which can leave the impression of "taking over"). I do this myself a lot (delegate, then get impatient and do it myself anyway).
Lastly, demanding more openness is the opposite of taking over, to my mind. By all means, restrict posting privileges to a list (to keep traffic manageable), but why not make the archives available to the community? I now see from Kay's post that the specific website discussion is in an open archive, so that's good. If this fact was mentioned previously, I must have missed it (busy preparing for and participating in RegiCon).
Regards, Jean
