Yes, I am joining Website.

I know this was probably an automessage, but why not go for it once
again...

Name: Miikka Leskinen
Gender: male
Age: 19
Nationality: Finnish
Residence: Rovaniemi (on the Arctic Circle)
Occupation: Student and Web designer

I just got a degree in IT and economics - formally 'Vocational
Qualification in Business Information Technology' - in conjunction with
the Finnish equivalent of the American senior high (or the British sixth
form college). A so-called double degree, a special system here in
northern Finland.

I've had but one big web design post so far, but been involved in many
smaller projects. Web design has been a personal hobby for about 2-3
years now, and this all has been quite a learning curve. From a graphics
designer to a standards zealot to an accessibility geek to a graphics
designer. It's probably the only area of IT I can say I'm very good at.
But I'm still studying, building websites 'the real way' isn't too
simple.

Currently I'm waiting for my final exam results. I'll also build a
website for a small local security company next month.

Strong points: knowledge on specifications and all sorts of guidelines.
Accessibility and special user groups. Usability, web writing. Browser
behaviour.

I use W3C a lot but they're not always very smart imho. For instance,
why go for a completely new and revolutionary XHTML technology if any of
the current browsers don't even support XHTML 1.0? The web is much more
than the specs.

But what I can do for the website project... I think you can use me if
you need. I've already done some browser testing and given suggestions
on the design and code, but it seems that you've done wonderful job here
even without me (of course). I'll probably hang around here, read my
email every once in a while, throwing suggestions. I can also look
through the current code and make improvements, hopefully making it more
stable and compact.

That's about everything for now...
