But what I can do for the website project... I think you can use me if you need. I've already done some browser testing and given suggestions on the design and code, but it seems that you've done wonderful job here even without me (of course). I updated our to-dos, but they are the pretty obvious ones... here is some more info.
* Kay is working, I think, on the style guide. It's pretty important, as I would like to create templates for project leads to use. These would specify color, CSS, useful javascripts, etc. The basic philosophy is pragmatic but focused on making sure we comply with standards and use CSS.
Oops! Actually I haven't even started on this...got too busy with other things. Hopefully this coming weekend. :/
* Update the download javascript page.... I'd like to randomize the selection of servers within a country and then offer that random server to users invisibly. Kind of like the way the other guys do it :-) We do not have load balancing among our archipelago, so are at a disadvantage. But I get a lot of mail on webmasters (Jacqueline and I are the webmasters) from users panicked by choice.
* Support page. There is a small group working on updating the support page, led by Gerry, Diane, Jacqueline. It's a pretty important page and will get even more important. It should list more or less what it lists now, but better ;-)
Other things that other projects are using and could be enhanced....
* Alex: the CDROM page is great, but I was thinking of deploying the template used for the Consultants page. Is that a reasonable idea? The finished template would be used for the OEM page.
* Sponsors page. I created a draft of a sponsors page a while ago and would like to move ahead with it. It's here, <http://website.openoffice.org/tryouts/my/louis/sponsors.htm> and would be linked from About us, as well as Distribution projects... What I would love is to see if we can improve it.
* Sitemap. John McCreesh currently maintains the sitemap pretty much
singlehandedly. I'm sure he could do with help ;-) Also, I'd like to be able to add a feature to that page so that users
could rate the consultant (if not cdrom distro), in eBay style. Is
this possible to do with our technology (ie, javascript)?
