Hi Ivan,
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "which pages are we looking at,
and do you think the pages you would like to link to match what you
would expect from this page?", but I'll try to answer this as I
> The content is only a mere suggestion.
This was actually what I was concerned with with that comment you didn't
get (and I admit, badly phrased... wanted to create a quick reply ;) ).
The problem is that a lot of proposals assume already the content to be
fixed, whereas in my opinion we should be critical to what we want to
deliver in the first place at the main page.
I think it is also important to think a bit about a better structure, a
structure the final home page design should then also adhere to, e.g.:
http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/49988/sitestructure.odp
(but maybe design is the only thing you want to care about, which is of
course totally fine)
Icons would make it easier, though the headings themselves could be
made more attention-grabbing, i.e. making them bolder, using a
different font, coloring, etc. My only concern is that an icon for
each of the six options would saturate the page with too much color,
causing only cluttering.
Of course you can have colourless icons, like, for example, the current
icons at the website, which are only slightly deviate from the button's
normal colour.
