I am looking at ways we can make editing the OpenOffice.org Wiki a little easier for all involved. For longer and more complex pages, the MediaWiki markup can get a little overwhelming and difficult to read and edit. One possible solution is to use the FCKeditor extension for MediaWiki. This would provide a nice WYSYIWYG editor environment for creating and editing Wiki pages. You can go play in a sandbox here: http://mediawiki.fckeditor.net/index.php/Sandbox The main information page is here: http://mediawiki.fckeditor.net/index.php/Main_Page What does everyone think?
yes! yes! yes! PLEASE!!!!! Would you prefer to edit only in the raw
MediaWiki markup (as it is now)? or in a WYSIWYG editor? (note that the FCKeditor allows you to switch back and forth between raw Wiki markup and WYSIWYG) Would this change in the editing environment be helpful?
can we have both....at my work we use "jira" which provides both a WYSIWYG capability, and more indepth wiki markup language (through tab selection when you go into edit mode. But...maybe this is not possible with our current implementation.
