Hi all,

I'm short on time, but this discussion has a rich history - many
arguments have been made for and against across both website-dev and
marketing lists. As James pointed out, the discussion to look for in
the archives is "thirsty horses". I would suggest that anyone who
wants to argue for a change to the action statements on the homepage
should read through those archives and state their case with those
existing arguments in mind. The decision to put the action statements
in place was not taken lightly, especially because it was (and still
is) somewhat of an unusual approach. But once again, the archives bear
witness to the debates that took place on this issue, so, if after
reading through the discussions, someone has something new to offer -
a new angle, new evidence for/against, by all means they should go
ahead.

Regards,
Ivan.
