Some time ago we migrated projects to use the ou=groups,ou=project format with
owner and member attributes.
The time has come to delete the legacy CNs. Sebb has outlined a potential issue
with tac-pmc (INFRA-16188), but I’ve asked him for clarification as I’m not
entirely clear on what the issue is.
As far as I know, we have updated all the tooling necessary to remove both of
the following:
The legacy PMC OU:
ou=pmc,ou=committees,ou=groups,dc=apache,dc=org
and the legacy project OUs:
cn=activemq,ou=groups,dc=apache,dc=org
cn=airavata,ou=groups,dc=apache,dc=org
etc.
I’d like to schedule this deletion for 9 February 2019 at approximately 1400
UTC. This will give some daylight hours for me to troubleshoot any issues, as
well as being early enough in the day for our EU folks to help as well if
anything comes up.
Does anyone have any knowledge of systems which might still break? The old
groups are so far out of date that I’d expect any problems to have surfaced by
now, but one can never be too sure ..
Thoughts on the deletion date and general availability?
