There are some other OUs with the same format which are not projects:
cn=committers,member,people (possibly others)
I assume those will be kept as is, at least for now.

There are some references in Whimsy which need to be removed.

I don't know what PonEE uses (they don't use the the PonyMail sample code AFAIK)

mail-private uses ou=groups,dc=apache,dc=org but only for members and committers

It looks like projects.ao and reporter.ao use Whimsy json data for projects

The phonebook (home.a.o) uses Whimsy data only.

The discrepancies are shown by this Whimsy report:

https://whimsy.apache.org/secretary/ldap-check (takes a while to run)

This shows that the main groups that will be potentially adversely affected are:

security: +=striker; -=marc,hbedi,ged
tac: -=mbenson,darshankumar,gsaini,issac

Various other groups will gain owners i.e. people with PMC karma
I assume these are the out of date ones to which you are referring.

I've emailed TAC about the issue, but AFAIK it has yet to be resolved.

It might make sense to fix Whimsy ASAP and see if that causes any grief.
