It's also diffucult to sell XD1 - I had only one
project offer explicitely meaning xdoclet.
( Deutsche Post  - that's pretty big corporate
customer. I could have this gig, but I got  better
where  I can work from home )
But it is(was) used behind the scenes  in JRun, 
and ejbgen of BEA is kind of similar...

Actually there is distribution linked from the
frontpage. It contains plugins and all necessary
dependencies to unzip and go. 
If you use maven then it is even easier.
