You can't have it both ways. Either you change it to be inconvenient for those
in the States, or those in Europe.

6 am is probably way too early for most people, 2 am is probably way to late
for most people. The only solution is for everyone in Europe to pack their bags
and move to Iowa. I hear they have corn. ;)

Seriously though, I think a fair way to figure things out as to times would be
to figure out who has family and employment obligations that will conflict with
changing the time in any direction first. People were able to show up to the
time picked for the meeting yesterday, so obviously that time works for some
people. 6 am works for you but assumes everyone else is on the same time zone
that is in Europe.

If you guys want meetings where everyone attends, there is no "perfect time"
that will work for everyone. Suggesting a change from what seemed to work for
the majority last night without information to back it up other than your own
personal feelings towards it seems less than optimal to me.

I would suggest this web page to help figure out the best time for everyone:
http://worldtimebuddy.com . It helps me out a lot at work translating 5 time
zones for five different people into something usable, it may help you too.
