I agree with Zac: Let's stick to the Growl framework and use the NC-compatible version when it comes out. (Full disclosure: I used to be the lead developer of Growl. I haven't worked on Growl 2.0 at all; I left prior to the release of Growl 1.3. I haven't used Mountain Lion much, but have played with NC a little bit and like it.)
