Because if I do what you say, then receiving something from bearerbox or any
other box for that matter will block until it receives data. Which may never
come.

That's why I want to raise an error receiving data (by means of the shutdown
function) and after that I can finish the thread.

 

Or does gwthread_wakeup(.) do the same?

is not a inter-thread communication.

 

why not just?

 

stop = 1

gwthread_wakeup(...)
