So, I just had another look. The analysis was correct for the fingerprint-auth stack. But, as it turns out, we have an almost identical issue when fingerprint authentication is enabled. The fix is simple, will post an MR and update the issue in a bit. I'll also ask for the bug to be qualified as a blocker.
