This is from 2006/2007. That's more than a decade ago :)

A lot of things have changed since then. If you're interested in package
maintainership, please give it another go and let us know how it goes.

I will stress again that it's about getting the community to trust that
one understands the Fedora packaging pipeline and guidelines well
enough. So the whole exercise should be undertaken with this in mind.
