If you search fedora calendar for java-sig you get an empty list. There is 
java-devel mailing list which is a (very) β€žlow trafficβ€œ list.

I use often what is probably β€žthe other" commercially available OS. I’ve to 
download everything including the JRE from third party sources and have to 
setup and maintain everything myself. 

On Fedora, especially all my servers, I really appreciate that all of this is 
done for me automatically, including notification and installation of updates - 
if a rpm is available.
