I have no nVidia to compare, but still, 72M is a lot. Here's what I see across a few systems (all Fedora 41): - Pi4: 24M - VM: 28M - Intel CPU (integrated GPU): 39M - AMD CPU + older Radeon GPU: 77M - non-hostonly image: 252M These hostonly images aren't terribly huge, but remember that they're also loaded through slower firmware methods (especially for network booting). Someone said that the main objection to only including simpledrm is for multi-GPU systems... what about having dracut's hostonly mode default to simpledrm (no GPU drivers/firmware in initramfs) unless there are multiple GPUs present (with an option to change that)? I believe Fedora 42's Plymouth already defaults to using simpledrm. -- Chris Adams <[email protected]> -- _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected] Do not reply to spam, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/new_issue
