Hello,

   I'd like to file a bug against Nautilus, but don't have enough
information to know what is actually wrong. I'm hoping either its
already known but I can't find it or someone can help me narrow down
what is going on.

   For the last month or two Nautilus the file manager just 'hangs'
forever. I don't know what causes it. It often happens when trying to
select a file for upload via Chrome. However sometimes just clicking on
the file manager icon in the dock in GNOME, nothing ever is displayed
for multiple minutes (sometimes going on 10-20 it seems).

   When it finally is displayed, its usually frozen and I get the
overlay asking if I want to wait or force quit.

   I tried stracing the process but all I get is:

$ strace -p 2807416
strace: Process 2807416 attached
ppoll([{fd=39, events=POLLIN}], 1, NULL, NULL, 8
strace: Process 2807416 detached
 <detached ...>

ls /proc/2807416/fd/* shows that fd=39 is
lrwx------. 1 gnat gnat 64 Feb  4 15:38 39 -> 'anon_inode:[eventfd]'

If I try starting nautilus from a gnome-terminal it sits there trying
to talk to Tracker3.Miner.Files. But eventually quits and returns to a
prompt.

$ nautilus
** Message: 15:35:36.908: Connecting to
org.freedesktop.Tracker3.Miner.Files
Failed to register: Timeout was reached

Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong so I can file a useful bug?

Sincerely,
--
Nathanael
