I wish you a belated Happy New Year. BTW, in the 60's I was a TA at UBC,
teaching Calculus. I recall that you live in BC.At the time, $12,500 would
have bought me a nice house on Spanish Banks.
I started with Fedora before it was Core. I remember when you got your job.
Wow, how time flies when you are having fun. Do you remember when Fedora would
fit onto a 800meg CD?
Just a heads up.The Fedora44 everything.iso (for Gnome), appears to be in a
loop.
Earlier Rawhide versions had it crash mid-way through. I like to test
pre-releases, but I thought that automated testing would catch buglets.
By the way, In the university days I loved beautiful Vancouver, but now, at my
age 85, I am stuck in beautiful Montreal.

The Fedora updates policy specifically requires (OK, it uses "should"
language so technically not a requirement, but still) keeping stable
releases stable and specifically forbids doing version bumps without an
exception from FESCo.

"As a result, we should avoid major updates of packages within a stable
release. Updates should aim to fix bugs, and not introduce features,
particularly when those features would materially affect the user or
developer experience."
The policy is not always followed (I break it myself sometimes...) and
there are longstanding exceptions for e.g. KDE and the kernel. But it's
going much too far to say anything like "not doing version updates in
stable releases indicates there is a problem". It indicates rather the
opposite.
