Kernel 7.1 Issues
* Kernel 7.1 builds are failing in ELN. The suspected cause is the
CONFIG_MODULE_SIG_KEY_TYPE_MLDSA_87 option being enabled in the ELN
kernel config, which requires OpenSSL 4.0.
* The issue is specific to ELN because its kernel configuration
(maintained by RHEL) differs from the Rawhide kernel. The Rawhide kernel
does not have this option enabled.
* jforbes confirmed the fix is to enable another config option,
PKCS7_WAIVE_AUTHATTRS_REJECTION_FOR_MLDSA, since OpenSSL 4.0 is not yet
ready for ELN.
* A proposal was made to change how ELN kernels are built: either revert
to jforbes building them in parallel with Rawhide (gated in Bodhi) or
have ELNBuildSync trigger a build as soon as a Rawhide kernel is tagged
for updates-candidate, rather than waiting for it to become stable.
bootc Image Builds
* A Konflux merge request has been opened to enable bootc image builds
for ELN. jligon is working with the bootc team to move this forward.
fedora-eln-release package
* The fallout from separating fedora-eln-release from fedora-release is
mostly resolved, pending an anaconda update and new OpenQA needles.
* Discussed whether fedora-eln-repos should replace fedora-repos-eln, or
if the latter is still needed regardless.
Next Meeting
* The meeting for the following week (May 12th) will be skipped due to
several members attending the Red Hat Summit. The next meeting is
scheduled for May 19th.
Action Items
* jforbes: Create a merge request to enable the
PKCS7_WAIVE_AUTHATTRS_REJECTION_FOR_MLDSA configuration option in the
ELN kernel to fix the build failures.
* sgallagh & yselkowitz: To discuss potential changes to ELNBuildSync
for kernel builds outside of the meeting.
* jligon: Continue working on the Konflux configuration for bootc images
and provide an update in two weeks.
