Key Discussion Points
● **bootc:** The MR for compose images is still in progress. Volunteers
are being sought for co-maintainers, with `sgallagh` expressing interest.
● **s390x baseline:** Work is in progress to bump the s390x baseline to
z15/z16 for ELN. This change was missed for Fedora 44, so the team is
considering applying the fix to Fedora 45 at the same time.
● **libappstream-glib:** Fedora cannot switch from the deprecated
`libappstream-glib` to the new `appstream` library for validation until
the `asgen` tool is ready to replace `asbuilder` and can produce
matching results to avoid invalid repodata.
● **Kernel Gating:** Pull requests to implement kernel gating in Bodhi
are awaiting review. While there is a desire to implement gating to
reduce risk, it was noted that the current risk level is not
significantly higher than in the past, as ELN has a different kernel
configuration from Rawhide.
Action Items
● **jligon:** Continue working on the `bootc` compose images MR.
● **sgallagh:** Find time for a "data dump" to get up to speed
on co-maintaining `bootc`.
● **supakeen:** Provide an update on the image builder issue in the main
channel.
● **yselkowitz:** Continue working with the tools team on the s390x
baseline bump.
● **conan_kudo:** Document the plan for replacing `asbuilder` with
`asgen` in the corresponding issue.
● **conan_kudo:** Fix the "Fails To Build From Source" (FTBFS)
issue for `asgen`.
● **adamw:** Awaiting review on the Bodhi PR for kernel gating from the
maintainer, Mattia Verga.
