All,

I resigned from my roles on FESCo, the Fedora Council, and the Fedora Code of
Conduct Committee last Thursday (May 7, 2026). Effective immediately.

I have been involved in Fedora for a long time. I have been part of FESCo and
the Fedora Council for 6 years or so (?) and the Code of Conduct Committee for
a while but not quite as long. I was up for election this coming cycle, but
will not be running for the FESCo seat again. I encourage community members
interested to nominate themselves or have another Fedora friend nominate you.
FESCo now some consecutive term limits in place to help make it easier for new
community members to run for election and participate in the project at a
different level.

My role on the Fedora Council was by way of FESCo. I was the Engineering
Representative on the Council and held that for my entire time on FESCo. This
role is held by a member of FESCo selected among FESCo members. I encourage
FESCo to consider rotating out this position on the Council.

And my role on the Code of Conduct Committee came by invitation. This was the
most difficult work and it is not for everyone. It is very important for the
project and if you are at all interested in this board, I encourage you to talk
to current members to see if it might be something you want to help with.

Some people have asked me why I resigned from these roles. The big reason for
me is it was simply taking a huge portion of my time and I felt I was not
contributing effectively. I think this is a good indicator that maybe it's
time to step aside and let a new community member step in.

I am continuing to work on the projects and packages I work on at Red Hat and
will continue to be involved in Fedora. It's just time for fewer meetings for
me.

Thanks,
