Yes, the problems with fx were only the same problems shared by other
NodeJS programs. See the recent discussion on this list under the
subject line “binary content in node_modules,” and particularly my
message in that thread, for details. Not much has changed since then!
I’m not terribly familiar with the nuances of Go packaging, but if the
rewritten fx has any issues from a packaging perspective, they are
likely to be unrelated to the issues that existed at the time I orphaned
it. It would certainly be nice to have this tool back in Fedora.

Hello,
I have a question regarding the fx package in Fedora. I am a heavy user of the
tool, although I have always installed it manually from upstream. I noticed
that the tool was previously packaged[0] in Fedora, but has been orphaned[1]

Sorry if this is a newbie question (I'm new on Fedora packaging), but what was
the controversy?
While looking into the history[2] of fx, I noticed that it was originally
written in JavaScript around 2021, so I suspect that this may be the reason it
was orphaned. However, the project was later rewritten in Go for several years
now. Would this change be sufficient for it to be packaged in Fedora again?
Thank you,
