I'd rather have you file a CoC violation report sooner, rather than later. Mostly, my arguments consist of me stating that I don't know what's going on, and that half the discussions that have occurred keep going above my head. I have a tendency to express this confusion. I don't pretend that what I'm saying benefits the community, or that I've contributed at all.
However, making a blanket statement that I have surface-level / LLM familiarity with these subjects, doesn't help clue me in to the discussion. It only appears to to alienate me, and it appears to be an ad hominem. *Of course* if I express confusion regarding a subject, I will likely have very surface-level knowledge of it. This is obvious to anyone who has read my posts/emails. I don't know much about cryptography/RPM itself, and the people who read what I've said, *know* that. I think technical accuracy matters *far more* for an engineering discipline, more than a "positive" environment. I think it would be better to make pedantic corrections, and to specify the specifics of how things are to be done within any given discussion. Otherwise, are we *really* doing *engineering* work here? That isn't to say that you or I should throw random ad hominems, and expect them to actually matter; or to spread negativity for the sake of spreading negativity. However, I believe there are some real issues that need to be discussed. I don't think this approach is a problem. So go ahead and file that CoC report already. I don't care.
