Hi, folks,

tl;dr

Please share the specific tips or the links to your favorite How-To's for the style of effective communication on the mailing list and outside of it.

Thanks folks for posting things. The Asking Smart Questions guide was the one I was misremembering. And also I have just realized that the Fedora Mailing List Guidelines are linked right at the bottom of each post :)

But also, I think there is a gap between:

 "how to ask for support"

and

"how to participate in the technical debate"

I wonder if you have anything addressing the latter specifically.

Random example:

1) When multiple people reply to a post with a similar argument, do you reply to each of them, or to one of them and put everyone else to CC?

2) When one reply has multiple arguments do you reply to each in a separate mail or in one?

It probably happens in both ways, but what are the considerations one should have.
