Wow, never heard of that! But at 18 GB, I'm not sure I'll ever uncompress that. > I just run fedora-getspecs from > https://forge.fedoraproject.org/packaging/fedora-misc-package-utilities Which led me to https://src.fedoraproject.org/repo/rpm-specs-latest.tar.xz, which is great, and I'm thankful for you pointing me into its direction. I've wanted something like to for quite a long time. (I-Want-a-Pony-Mode: What would be rather nice: a snapshot-mode git repository of all non- dead packages. Please note: snapshot-mode doesn't exist! An up-to-date shallow copy of all the active Fedora package repositories. If you update it, it blows away everything but HEAD. So it stays shallow forever. You can clone the individual repositories if you care about their history. With 23K repositories this might be just 1 or 2 G in size. Can I have a pony?) Thanks for your messages. I'm very happy I've started this thread.
