In one week, 2026-11-09, or shortly after, I plan to update the croaring package from 4.3.12 to 5.4.0 in Rawhide[1]. This is an ABI-breaking update: the SONAME version changes from 18 to 30.

At the same time, I will update python-pyroaring to version 1.2.0[2]. This requires the croaring update, but remains compatible in terms of the Python API.

Finally, in the same side tag, I will use provenpackager privilege to rebuild groonga, which is the only other package that depends on croaring. I have already verified compatibility using a local mock build.
