This code has the benefit of:
- covering more device types (not just BIOSes with type 9 & type 41)
- not attempting to do heuristics that name devices via enumeration

However, it does have the large disadvantage of changing the namespace used.
Another cause for concern by users is the maintenance record of systemd:
   https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841822
pungi can't create installable media with F17 + updates

For about five months from July through December 2012
a bug in systemd-44-17.fc17 prevented installation of Fedora 17
using an updated .iso/DVD/USB containing the then-current packages.
Obviously there were workarounds, but the long persistence of the bug
was irksome and slowed the adoption of Fedora 17.
The root cause was identified in just a few days:
   https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841822#c9
but the fix for Fedora 17 did not appear despite gentle ping.

Please pay more attention to maintenance of systemd.

The track record of systemd maintains is just fine better than many other components in the distribution.

Claiming something else is just absurd.
