Hi Karl, The source tree for DD-WRT is available (svn co svn://svn.dd-wrt.com/DD-WRT) so I would say all you need is to compile the kernel with mesh enabled and add the iw package. According to this ( http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Ipkg#Finding_Packages) it seems you can even grab openwrt packages. In that case, the wireless-tools package provides iw. And that is all you need to setup an open mesh.
Can you share why you want DD-WRT and not openwrt, which has better o11s support?
