I appreciate the feedback. I am a bit of a newbie to this so can anyone recommend a specific make/model USB WiFi adapter for the raspberry pi that 802.11s 'works' with from this list http://elinux.org/RPi_USB_Wi-Fi_Adapters ?

I havent seen a lot of problems with rt2800usb and the 3.3 and 3.10 kernel series, although i admit i haven't tested extensively. I do recall having to disable powermanagement. As to the powered USB hub, true, forgot to mention that. That is a necessity.
