Hi There, James Yes you are right, I asked around also and it does seem to be unlimited with outlook clients when you use the Openchange module. This is good news if I can get it to work though.
I have a Zentyal 3.3 install and Office 2010 and 2007 (outlook) connected but there are issues that I am not sure how to resolve and still busy on google to find out. *********************************************** 1) When opening outlook I get certificate security notice (pop-up) that I need to accept... don't know how to get rid of it. I imported the Zentyal certificates etc but it keeps on popping up. 2) Outlook 2007 (on a clean install of Windows XP) is staying connected to openchange but with "object not found" error when you do a send/receive... Testing connections in outlook gives an autodiscover error. Someone suggested that I create a dns entry for autodiscover.mydomain and I did that and pointed the IP to the server but still the error. When I copy the URL into the browser I get 600 error after prompted for username password. Apparently this is a good thing? 3) Outlook 2010 on windows 8. It keeps on disconnecting (suspecting that it is the laptop and the wireless connection... not sure yet) it connects but losses the connection after about 5 minutes. ************************************************ I am getting there with Zentyal but not happy with the openchange setup yet... just seems to run into one problem after another. Thought Zentyal will be simple install (it was) but afterwards things got hairy... I do have a few years experience on Linux and I did play a lot with different concepts but if it is difficult for me to get the things working then what about the none IT person that installs Zentyal with the hope to use openchange? Maybe time to fall back and print that Zentyal user manual :-) Ray -----Original Message----- From: devel [mailto:devel-boun...@lists.openchange.org] On Behalf Of James Sefton Sent: 05 March 2014 08:02 PM To: Development list Subject: Re: [openchange][devel] - here is some feedback what I found with Zentyal server 3.3 and Openchange Hi Ray, Not sure how much it helps but I have used Zarafa in the past and they do allow (or did back then) their product to be used free of charge for up to 3 outlook clients and after that you have to pay for licenses. I am not familiar with Zentyal server but I would suspect the "first 3 users free" thing likely comes from the Zarafa component. But like I stated when you send your first email it disconnects and refuses to reconnect. I decided to try my Windows 8 laptop with Office 2010 and when I joined the windows 8 laptop to the domain I got a (RPC server) error.... Googled but ended up just restarting samba on the Zentyal server and tried to join again... and the Laptop joined successfully. I opened Outlook 2010 and setup the openchange email account and Outlook stayed connected to the OpenChange Server... I even sent a test message expecting outlook to discconect again and it did not... it stayed connected... Man I basically jumped so high that I almost hit my head against the ceiling! Before I could play (and this is the part I was looking forward to) with calanders etc... I received the test message back.... best email I have ever received :-) I also had some issues with the certificate as it stated that the server certificate name did not match the host name of some sorts but I just accepeted the certificate and it is still working. I will get the certificate thing sorted out later as I know that you need to generate the cert in Zentyal Server and install it on the PC. Well (OpenChange boys) well done....and in pointing me in the right direction and for the community that helped. I will need to check why I got the RPC error as that could be why Outlook 2007 did not stay connected to openchange... ************************************************** I don’t know if this question can be answered here. Zentyal Server with groupware (Zarafa) has a 3 user limit for people who use Microsoft outlook email clients on the community version of Zentyal. Does the 3 user limit apply if you are uing the (OpenChange) module on Zentyal instead of the Zarafa module? Anyone here with that knowlage? ************************************************* Thank you Ray -----Original Message----- From: Julien Kerihuel [mailto:j.kerih...@openchange.org] Sent: 03 March 2014 01:14 PM To: Raymond Cc: 'Development list' Subject: Re: [openchange][devel] Samba Crashing? If OpenChange disconnects, it means it aborted. As far as we know, we don't have any opened crash report related to this. The most probable in this circumstances is a misconfiguration of the SOGo backend or underlying services (MTA/MDA/SQL). If you run Samba4 with -d5, it should highlight something, either a NS exception from the SOGo backend or a more generic error. If it does not lead to anything useful, add the following parametric option to smb.conf: dcerpc_mapiproxy:ndrdump = true Rerun samba and pushes some details to the list.
