Hello Well I need this to work without 3rd party addons on IOS/Android phones with Microsoft Exchange account.
Let's say I have no other way but to use Samba4. During the account configuration I assume that the phone will try to contact to this OpenChange server to enumerate certain things. Does this require authentication? After that it tries to login with the mail account through IMAP which handled by the dovecot server. I don't see where does this samba authentication comes in. I have no problem having samba for whatever reason but I would like to authenticate from the existing mysql db on both my POSTFIX and DOVECOT server and authenticate the sogo through the DOVECOT as it is now. Is this doable? I have downloaded this igestis sogo appliance to try to understand how it works. The users would be using this from their phones and tablets remotely (not from outlook on a LAN) so on this picture: Thank you very much! _______________________________________________ If you just want ActiveSync to support phones (whether it be android or iOS) then yes, it is possible without samba. In case you need the full-blown Exchange protocol, no this is not possible without samba if I understand everything correctly. I have ActiveSync running using only openldap, postgresql, apache and dovecot + postfix. If you need just the calendar & contacts working on the phones, I would start to look into caldav / carddav. Davdroid on android works really well, and iOS devices talk cal/carddav like a charm. -- Best Regards, Aljoscha Vollmerhaus IT-Administration NASKORSPORTS Trappistenweg 8 5932 NB Tegelen The Netherlands Phone: +31 77 7201-244 www.naskorsports.com[http://www.naskorsports.com] _______________________________________________ devel mailing list devel@lists.openchange.org http://mailman.openchange.org/listinfo/devel[http://mailman.openchange.org/listinfo/devel] _______________________________________________ devel mailing list devel@lists.openchange.org http://mailman.openchange.org/listinfo/devel
