If it's a done deal, then whatever. It's not like anybody is going to choose Sabayon or leave Sabayon because of the version numbering. But if there is a choice between a number that indicates something and just the next number in an arbitrary line, I don't know why you wouldn't want a number that actually has meaning.
But I've said my peace. Danilo, switching up the repositories to match releases is still pretty much independent of the actual version number used. There's no reason that entropy couldn't be modified (if even necessary) to do an equo hop 6.11 and use the month.year for the Sabayon releases. Your idea, while is makes use of the Sabayon version number, is really independent of how the version numbers should be assigned.
