Today I seen this notice in sabayonlinux.org: equo notice sabayonlinux.org >> [0] [Thu, 23 Jun 2011 21:37:56 +0000] Title: Sabayon 6 release migration note >> [1] [Fri, 05 Aug 2011 11:26:28 +0000] Title: GNOME 3.0 is coming, in the next 24-48 hours >> [-1] Exit Choose one by typing its identifier: 1 >> [1] [Fri, 05 Aug 2011 11:26:28 +0000] Title: GNOME 3.0 is coming, in the next 24-48 hours >> Content: After years of service, we are going to retire GNOME 2.32 from our repositories. The time has come, and we have to move on. You are not going to get GNOME Shell by default, so that the migration should be less painful. However, if you want the full GNOME 3.0 experience, please install gnome-shell. Goodbye GNOME 2. >> Link: http://www.gnome.org/gnome-3/
I think it should mention that with the current (11.6) fglrx drivers Gnome Shell will go psychedelic. By the way, a week ago the 11.7 drivers were released (thoroughly lacking some release notes and changelogs). I have not tested them, but could it be that they fixed the issue? http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx
