Yes, but if anything, the situation is even worse in the embedded market.

In the general computing world, the vendor has to worry about both OEM sales 
and retail sales.  In the embedded world, you ONLY have OEM sales.  You cannot 
go out and buy an Imageon 100 add-in card for your Zaurus, so there is even 
less incentive for the chip vendor to provide any public support.  Their 
consumer is the OEM.  If the OEM is happy, ATI is happy.
