are you sure they haven't written a custom acceleration support module for the
imageon just for sharp? they do own the copyright to their code.. so they never
have to release it if they don't want to... (this kind of thing is done quite
often in the embedded market - there are custom add-ons and drivers for "a
"normal" software package, just to make it work with the vendors esoteric
hardware)

i could definitely imaging this happening...
