I suspect that the people whose interests lie that way (fixing xkb), saw
it something like this:
minor bug report (not release-critical),
partial analysis (will take some time to determine what the proper
solution is),
the report in itself has enough information, not sure if a patch
from the submitter would be helpful (submitter indicates that the
analysis is incomplete anyway).
Perhaps completing the analysis and generating a _small_ patch which
doesn't alter anything unnecessary would get some action.
