I have no problem with lua for scripting, but I think that dumping the whole interpreter into the kernel is rather ugly and will only come around to bite us.
I would have expected the channel program to be "compiled" in userspace, and then the byte code to be sent to the kernel for execution. Similar to DOF or BFP on other OSes.
