- Season Pass

?

Tivo term for recording all episodes of a series.

- Scheduled recordings (good when you are on holiday)

Or at work ;)

Or at home. ;)

After you get use to having a PVR record for you, you hardly ever watch
live tv. You cherry pick off of whats already recorded. Usually, there
is far more to watch on the box then I have time for. :)

- Set Reminder (Remind me when a show is on..maybe via a popup
telling
me the show I set a reminder for is about to start... want to watch
it?)

That would be annoying because of the above listed reason. It would be
going off all the time.

Hmm... Well... I guess being able to mark an individual showing as
Remind wouldn't be too bad.

Yes marking an individual show for recording only. It is a one off event ..that only you set when needed. Think of it as an alarm clock for a show :). Only happens once though.

I'm not sure, that seems redundant with schedules - just record and
maybe hint the user that a recording started.

Yeah. Just a recording status would be fine.

Initial Questions...

1. Will this be a standalone plugin, or would you also like to add
the
three hierarchal items you list below in our current TV show section
on the Main Menu?

I'd vote for separate menu entry as you can have both tv shows, movies
and music videos there. On the other hand, recordings of known type
could get merged with others in the database.

2. Where do recording exist for later review and playback? (see Q3
which might relate to it)

Wherever they were recorded. A front/back-end separation is a must,
IMO.

Agreed. I have a ton of space in my myth backend and very thin front
ends. The greatest feature of Myth is that I can go to any one of my
tv's/laptops and play without transferring anything.

3. Should any recordings that have completed need the ability to
add
them directly to TV Section Library currently in Moovida?
(automatically or does the user see a recording and say 'yeah, move
that to the Main TV Shows library... delete that... ok, move that...
delete that etc)

You could try to do that automatically based on EPG data and, of
course,
allow the user to manipulate the recordings by hand.

In that same vain, a feature I'd really like is a disconnected mode.
Good for laptops/car computers on trips. It would have a dedicated pool of space and it would copy things from the backend. If you don't watch a show for a number of days or watch you did watch the show, it would mark
it as watched, and replace it with something else next time the laptop
was connected.

That would use the EPG data, but is different then setting what the
backend will record.

Careful not to get ahead of yourself for the initial release.
I am sure there is value in this but... scale back the ambition for version 1. (Always fearful of bloat and missing the larger goal... media center, simplified, easy to use)
