I worked for a travel agent about ten years ago that had exactly this -- holidays advertised with an 0870 number, which got routed to one of their knowledgeable home-workers around the country, depending on who was currently clocked in, and on speciality (by destination, by type of holiday, etc.) I never delved into how that part of the operation worked, but it certainly existed even then. I haven't been in touch with them for a while, but if I sent them an enquiry out of the blue it certainly wouldn't cause any offence, if it'd be useful.
