Hello,

What with the students getting all upitty and the media latching on to
every pledge that the Lib Dems signed up to it seems to me that the
Tories were rather wise not to commit themselves to anything before
the election (apart from their manifesto).

As it would appear that politicians have nothing to gain and
everything to lose from pledges is there anything we can learn for the
next election quiz?

I'd suggest:

* Avoid specifics and question them on general concepts - eg not "Vote
against tuition fees" and instead "Try to keep the cost of education
to a minimum".

I appreciate that this might seem a bit wet and wishy-washy but it
might lead to a higher completion rate.

Any other thoughts?

Edmund.
