Also interesting to me in the debate over open/not open is the role of the 
Citizen.

In the monetization scheme, Government profits and Corporate bids but the 
Individual gets no say.

I want a percentage of every transaction that watches my data go from one 
database to another.

I feel that I have the right inherently in my person to decide which for-profit 
organization is able to purchase the fruits of MY life.

Government has the duty to protect me and provide services that I pay for 
through taxes. Thats about it. SO becoming a broker against my will is to 
pervert the relationship.

Open Data is excellent in principle and in most cases, but it is disheartening 
to see that individual citizen's rarely make it to the negotiating table.
