We just need another storagemanagerfactory.
Almost all mmbase junit classes are integration testcases. Integration
testcase usually run in a deployed environment. Like always MMbase does
it differently.
I just like to think of MMBase as something that is not bounded to a web server
The content engine of mmbase could be webserver independent, but the
java world we are living in is beyond the point of webserver-less setups.

It must remain possible to run mmbase without a webserver. I hope you
will accept any patches that will make this possible. most probable is
a patch the allows the mmbase datasource to be configured using java
code.( a setDataSource method)

I think I'm not entitled to vote, but if I were I would vote +1 :) Provided that proper documentation on how to set up datasources on different servlet containers is available. BTW running MMBase for GUI/standalone apps is still possible when the datasource configuration is done in the app itself and MMBase is able to find that datasource. Containers aren't magical applications that can do things normal applications can't.
