The comments of the builder get lost when using the BuilderWriter. the BuilderWriter should be used when the config field of the typedef node does not exist. (this field contains the xmldata from disk). Creating the builder xml will then be as simple as writing an xml to disk.
This has nothing to do with the vote made. The missing comments is an issue that should be entered in the bugtracker.
