The reason is we are preparing for 1 or 2 new MMC members, members who

can be involved in changing the rules now being discussed. This is the 
first time in 4 years
and the result of the request of these new commitors is overshadowing 
the time the new
candidates took to be part of the MMC and comming out on these lists.

Don't see this as a 'please shut up' message but as a sign of respect 
to the (new) mmc members
who will need to solve problems as this one in the future.

PS: my reasons for giving up the mmc membership has nothing todo with 
current members or anything else related to the mmc. I just felt it was
time for elections and by not putting myself up for reelection i am 
forcing atleast 1 new member. Also im more and more happy to try to 
create
some applications build on the core then the core itself (better people 
have been working on that for years).
