I've seen some positive feedback of those on the bugtracker and/or dev-list and/or IRC for some time now, and I'd say they probably could be trusted with voting rights (and duty), and granted CVS access. Undoubtly I forgot some, and I apologise, feel free to complain.
IMHO some positive feedback on the bugtracker and/or devlist isn't enough to become a committer.....Finding bugs AND fixing them, sending patches, write documentations will do the trick.
Life as a commitor is already quite hard.
I agree and I know I haven't done much myself lately.....
I hope making people commitors
willl make it easyer for them for help.
I agree, but they have to have the skills (I'm *not* arguing the skills of the listed people) and very important they must have proven themselves.....otherwise the committer status is empty or we have to change the status.
