Hello Kees,
There is of course time and money needed to make applications open source;
generic instead of specific. The companies that paid the app, are free to do
so within their own timeframe. All announcements made, where discussed with
and approved by the Foundation. All apps will be MPL.

There is no need (in general) for mmbase applications to be opensource or most follow the
MPL (could also be a different license) it is in the end your work. I do think a guideline wouldbe
nice. What is somewhat unclear at the moment is the timing but this could be handled within
these guidelines. Opensource is not a 'demand' until you do it, same with maintainers but if
we agree on 'supported' or 'approved' applications we can and imho should place some demands
on the applications. I personally will never agree to a system that is 'fixed' if someone doesn't
want to follow the guidelines feel free to add/host stuff yourself but don't expect extra support
from the community.

-I already answered the question about Didactor several times. Didactor will
be open source in the near future. See my former mails on the subject.

-You can get the sourcecode of wiab by ordering a cd on the site of
Amsterdam: www.bia.amsterdam (see web in a box).

What is needed is one way to find applications, ive started a small list allready
and will maintain this list until we have a more permanent solution. this has
been approved by the mmc.

-Leeuwarden is working on their open source release. This specific app is
expected in july this year.
-The same goes for the project-app. The Egem-site was deployed only a few
days ago. So please be a little patient.
-The Forum: Daniel already answered.

Doesn't mean nothing is happening: See packages on Foundation site.

The maintenance of the software will be in hands of our parters in close
collaboration with the foundation.

Nevertheless, if you need something NOW, feel free to ask. And yes, we need
to discuss the way we are going to handle this in future. In fact we are
already talking about the subject.

I guess it would be nice to know how others feel on these topics and take it away from
the given examples.

Daniel.
