I would be ready to consider it a bug, and would accept the change
(automatic use of auxiliary file) as a bugfix. 

Btw.I think the values of %w and %h should be written in the image object
(because ckey sucks, and it would be much simpler), because those are
essential sometimes. Calling that too a bugfix would perhaps be too much.
