I think the auxiliary file must be used implicitely when using 'text' because then we don't need to document when you need to explicitely use this '@' argument, and when not. I do not think the performance-penalty on using a file is measured, nor worth the hassle.
Do I need to make a new vote on this? Or should we consider it a bufix? I don't think anyone objects to implicitely use the auxiliary file.
