Hi,

the reason I brought up the patch files is exactly the point Reza
makes : these files tend to turn into repositories for the weird and
vague.

The patch files should patch *if* required.
So, I agree with Reza : if it is a 'functioning' device and pattern,
it belongs in the core files.
